I'm thinking it is something we need to give a try.
I just had a doctor today that would not see a patient for outpatient IV therapy because insurance would not cover his costs. He told the patient about Walgreen's IV therapy, that is the first I had heard of that. After researching I see a few Walgreen's now have an area with chairs to get daily IV treatments. Scary what is happening to health care in the name of money.

I am also a deep skeptic of the health care 'reform' legislation, although I admit it was a legislative triumph. It will, of course, cost orders of magnitude more than they say, and it will deliver much less than they promised. There is no real cost control, but the next phase will have to include rationing, although this term won't be used. There will be a more sanitized description such as 'best practices' or 'evidence-based', etc. 32 million folks will be granted coverage, but who will be available to see them? There's already a primary care shortage. In addition, half of the newly insured will be in the Medicaid system, that pays so low that many physicians can't afford to see them. While I don't believe the law can or will be repealed, I hope that the passed 'reforms' can be reformed.
