Shaken But Not Spermed
May 12, 2010 in Medicine
Mad scientists are testing a long term contraceptive method for men that uses ultrasound and can last for up to 6 months. Don’t look for it on the shelf at Walgreens anytime soon however (and it’s likely too big to fit on a shelf). Testing of any new contraceptive method takes a lot of . . um . . sampling to ensure that sperm levels stay well below fertility levels and that this effectiveness is extremely consistent for up to 6 months or more. As crazy as it sounds, this may be a more effective method than a daily pill or semi-regular injection.
